Ground Beef Recalled for E. coli in Neb.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Tuesday that Fairbury Steaks, Inc. was recalling approximately 90 pounds of fresh ground beef products for potential E. coli O157:H7 contamination.

According to the FSIS press release, 10-pound packages of Bulk Fresh Ground Beef sold by the Fairbury, Neb., establishment were the only product sold by Fairbury Steaks subject to the recall.

The contamination was discovered by FSIS during routine microbiological sampling.  All products being recalled were distributed to a restaurant in Ruskin, Neb.
