Daily Harvest, a food delivery service, has released a statement recalling their “French Lentil + Leek Crumbles” after receiving customer reports of the products causing gastrointestinal issues.

Daily Harvest posted a link to the statement on their social media pages.

Daily Harvest’s recall statement said, “We took immediate steps to address what we heard from customers, reaching out to every person who received French Lentil + Leek Crumbles, instructing them to dispose of the product and not eat it. We simultaneously launched an investigation with internal and external experts throughout our supply chain and in accordance with regulatory procedures. We will share more information as soon as it’s available.”

Multiple complaints appeared on Reddit with one consumer saying that their wife spent two days in the hospital with liver damage after consuming Daily Harvest’s “French Lentil + Leek Crumbles.”

Another consumer complaint on Reddit said they ate the “French Lentil + Leek Crumbles” about two weeks ago and suffered “debilitating stomach pain.” 

A third post said that their mom “was as sick as a dog and puking a lot” the morning after eating the recalled product.

As of the posting of this article, there has not been a recall posted by the FDA or any report of the illnesses on the FDA’s Outbreak Investigation page.
