The Sunland Salmonella Nut Recall from A to Z

Published:

Editor’s note: This list originally appeared on Phyllis Entis’s blog, EFoodAlert, where she is maintaining an up-to-date list of all nut products being recalled by Sunland, Inc. for potential Salmonella contamination. The first list below names all almond and peanut butters  and whole peanut products recalled by Sunland; the second includes all known secondary recalls issued by companies who distributed or sold the recalled Sunland products or used them as food ingredients.  The following is a retail distribution list for Almond Butter and Peanut Butter recalled by Sunland, Inc. of Portales, New Mexico.

The Sunland Recall List (Updated October 14, 2012)

This recall applies to the following products bearing Best-If-Used-By Dates between May 1, 2013 and September 24, 2013.

The initial recall was updated September 25, 2012 to include the following additional products, bearing Best-If-Used-By Dates between May 1, 2013 and September 24, 2013.

Sunland’s October 12th announcement extended the recall to the following list of raw and roasted peanuts that meet these criteria:

The roasted and roasted/salted peanuts being recalled were distributed during the six month period prior to the recall date (April 12, 2012 – October 12, 2012), and will have best by/expiration dates on the packaging from October 12, 2012 through April 12, 2013. The raw peanuts being recalled (shelled and in-shell), were distributed during the twelve months prior to the recall date (October 12, 2011 – October 12, 2012), and will have either best by dates from October 12, 2012 through October 12, 2013 on the packaging, or a “Crop Year” marking on the package of 2011 or 2012, up to and including October 12, 2012.
