Salmonella Spinach Recall in California

Church Brothers is recalling 560 bags of clipped spinach after one bag tested positive for Salmonella during a random USDA Microbiological Data Program sampling.

No illnesses have been reported, the company said in its recall announcement Friday.

The recalled bagged spinach was processed on Oct. 6, 2011 and shipped to Super King Markets in Los Angeles, where it was available for sale beginning Oct. 7. The recalled 2.5 pound bags of clipped spinach were in clear packaging and have a best-by date of 10/23/2011 and the manufacturer code A279 47166.

Anyone who has the recalled bagged spinach should not consume it, and should destroy it or return it to Church Brothers, LLC.
