Victory’s Kitchen Ltd. is recalling several brands of soup and sauce products, including Co-op Gold, From Our Chefs, Longo’s, and Longo’s Signature, because of possible contamination with pieces of wood.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has classified this as a Class 3 recall, indicating a low risk of adverse health effects, but consumers are urged not to use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected products.

The recalled products were distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan.

As of the posting of this recall, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.

Consumers should discard the affected products or return them to the point of purchase.

About foreign material contamination

The presence of wood in food can pose a risk of injury to the mouth, throat, or digestive tract if ingested and may present a choking hazard. Anyone experiencing symptoms such as pain or difficulty swallowing after consuming these products should seek medical attention promptly.
