FDA announces live webinar for Food Safety Summit

The Food and Drug Administration has announced the seventh installment of their ongoing webinar series exploring food safety culture will take place live on May 11 from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. EDT.

The webinar series, “Collaborating on Culture in the New Era of Smarter Food Safety,” is in partnership with STOP Foodborne Illness, a non-profit public health organization. The upcoming webinar, entitled “Live from the Food Safety Summit: Measure What You Treasure,” will focus on the importance of assessing food safety culture in an organization.

The webinar series brings together experts from the public and private sectors for a collaborative exchange of ideas and experiences related to the importance of a robust food safety culture in ensuring safe food production. Food safety culture is one of the core elements in FDA’s New Era of Smarter Food Safety blueprint, which recognizes that reducing the burden of foodborne illness requires influencing the beliefs, attitudes, behaviors, and actions of people and organizations.
