The International Association for Food Protection’s (IAFP) program committee is inviting members and other interested individuals to submit workshop, symposiums or roundtable proposals for IAFP 2022. The 2022 pre-conference sessions begin July 23 with the conference set for July 31 – Aug. 3 in Pittsburgh, PA.

The submission deadline is Oct. 5. The IAFP describes the options as follows:

Symposium
A symposium is an organized, 90-minute or 2- or 3-hour session emphasizing a central theme relating to food safety. Sessions usually consist of presenters each giving 30-minute presentations. Ninety-minute sessions are limited to three, 30-minute presentations; 2-hour sessions are limited to four, 30-minute presentations; and 3-hour sessions are limited to six, 30-minute presentations.

Roundtable
A roundtable is a discussion forum of four to six panelists that is 90 minutes in length with each panelist giving a five to six minute introduction, followed by time for a discussion, with a one-hour minimum, that includes audience participation.

Workshop
A workshop consists of a one- to two-day program and is organized with a central theme relating to food safety. Workshops should include active participation from attendees. Workshops are scheduled for July 16 and/or July 17 prior to the IAFP Annual Meeting.

IAFP 2022
The IAFP 2022 Annual Meeting is scheduled for July 31 to Aug. 3 in Pittsburgh, PA. Attendees will join thousands of food safety professionals from around the world.

Every year, the IAFP Annual Meeting is attended by about 4,000 of the top industry, academic and governmental food safety professionals from six continents. The event is known for the quantity, quality, and diversity of each year’s program; the quality and relevance of exhibits sharing the latest in available technologies; leading experts speaking on a variety of timely topics; and special recognition of outstanding professionals and students for their contributions in the field of food safety.
