The U.S. Department of Agriculture published the final rule Dec. 2 in the Federal Register. Staff from the department’s Food Safety Inspection Service will explain what it means for domestic operations at the sessions this week. Advance registration is recommended for the educational sessions, “Mandatory Inspection of Fish of the Order Siluriformes and Products Derived from Such Fish.” The Jan. 21 meeting is set for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Washington D.C. at Patriots Plaza III. On-site registration will begin at 12:30 pm. The Jan. 27 meeting is set for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in at Mississippi State University, Stoneville, Miss.
