The product is packaged in 7-oz. transparent green plastic bags. The UPC for this product is 40074 13813. This code is located above the ingredient list. To date, the company has not received any reports of illness related to this recalled product. The recall was a result of routine sampling by a FDA contract lab, which revealed the presence of Salmonella. Consumers who have purchased Down to Earth Organic Coriander Powder are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis and arthritis.
