Greek food maker Delifish S.A. announced Wednesday that it is expanding its recall of smoked salmon products that may be contaminated with Listeria. The initial recall included products marked with lot numbers 249-291. This latest recall expands those numbers to include lots 235-335. “The expansion means that all cold smoked products that have been produced in the same period as the product type which initially tested positive in the U.S.A. are now voluntarily recalled,” says the company in its second recall announcement. Late last December, a Greek fish company announced that it was recalling its cold smoked salmon – sold in the United States – for potential Listeria contamination. This recall marked the fifth multistate market withdrawal of smoked salmon for the same problem since the beginning of November, 2012.
