A Kansas City re-packing company is expanding its beef jerky recall more than six-fold, adding two varieties of E3 Meat Co. Paleo beef jerky to an earlier recall of Craft Beer Jerky.

None of the jerky was inspected, as required by federal law, according to the recall notice posted by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The jerky is may have been illegally stamped with a USDA “mark of inspection” and should not be consumed.

“The problem was discovered by FSIS inspection personnel after a consumer provided a package of the product,” according to the recall notice.

“Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. Consumers with questions about the recall can contact Shannon Kimball, owner, Flavor Trade LLC at 816-531-2288.”

The expanded recall includes 628 pounds total of two flavors — sweet and spicy — E3 Meat Co. Paleo beef jerky. The original recall was for 113 pounds of Craft Beer Jerky, in wheat and porter flavors.
