Alabama officials closed a restaurant in the city of Pelham by emergency order Jan. 8 after lab tests revealed people who ate there have Salmonella infections.  An investigation into the cause of the illness is ongoing, according to the Alabama Department of Health.  The department reported two of the four people who tested positive for Salmonella after eating at Johnny Ray’s, 309 Huntley Parkway, have matching patterns of a rare Salmonella Enteritidis strain.  “Other potential cases of Salmonella are being investigated,” according to the state health department website.  “As of Jan. 8, 2016, the restaurant was closed by emergency order, following visits by the Bureau of Environmental Services on Dec. 15 and 22, and Jan. 6.”
