Aadji & Manten International LLC of Rockville, MD, is recalling approximately 1,108 pounds of Laser brand canned corned beef products not presented at the U.S. point of entry for inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Wednesday. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. The canned corned beef products were imported from Brazil on March 15, 2015. The following products are subject to recall:
- 123 cases plus 3-340g individual cans of “Laser Corned Beef” with “Best Before 03/10/2019” on the products.
The products bear the establishment number “EST. Brazil 337” inside the country’s mark of inspection. These products were shipped to retail locations in Maryland and Virginia and are currently en route to a distributor in California. The problem was discovered during routine review of product tracking records by FSIS employees. FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider. FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify that recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
