Allergen Alert: Soy in Ravioli

Rising Moon Organics is recalling its frozen Rising Moon Organics Mediterranean Garlic & Herb Ravioli because an incorrect back label on some packages does not list soy in the ingredients statement.

The problem is the result of mislabeling by the co-packer. The front of the package is correctly labeled Mediterranean Garlic & Herb Ravioli, however, the back of the retail package is incorrectly labeled Four Cheese Tortelloni.

No adverse reactions have been reported to date in association with this product, which is safe to eat by those without allergy or sensitivity to soy. But people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction.

Only one code date of the 8 oz. Mediterranean Garlic & Herb Ravioli is being recalled, and those packages have SELL BY APR 05 2012 printed on the front label. The incorrect back label (Four Cheese Tortelloni) has the UPC# 7-85030-55559-0. No other lot codes of Rising Moon Organics Mediterranean Garlic & Herb Ravioli are affected.

The recalled product was distributed through retail stores in the eastern and central regions of the United States.

Consumers can return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. For more information contact the company at 888-534-0246,  ext. 25154, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
