In-shell mixed nuts from the United States are the target of a second, and extended, Dec. 2nd public health warning by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and recall by importer Brampton, Ontario-based Loblaw Companies Ltd. The products, containing hazelnuts that may be contaminated with Salmonella, should not be consumed, according to the CFIA public health warning. No illnesses have yet been associated with the contaminated hazelnuts.  Products subject to the recall include:

  • Mixed nuts, 454 gram size with Uniform Produce Code (UPC) 6 28721 20678 7.
  • Mixed nuts, 1.36 kilogram size with UPC 0 33383 70401 2.
