Johnsonville LLC of Sheboygan Falls, WI, is recalling 42,062 pounds of ready-to-eat “Beddar with Cheddar” pork sausage links that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically very thin strands of black plastic fibers, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

The iconic Johnsonville company has initiated an international recall of some of its smoked sausage after a consumer complained about finding hard, green plastic in some jalapeño cheddar smoked sausage.

More than 95,000 pounds of the smoked sausage, all produced and packaged on March 12, are subject to the recall.
