That’s how cardiologist Uma Valeti, MD, CEO and founder of UPSIDE Foods (https://upsidefoods.com) describes the upshot of USDA’s approval this week to sell lab-grown chicken. The approval, the first in the nation, will allow Valeti’s company, as well as Eat Just and its manufacturing partner, Joins Biologics, to begin producing and selling lab-grown chicken.

Eat Just Inc., located in Alameda, CA, is recalling JUST Egg Chopped Spring Greens products from retail stores in five states because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The recalled lots tested negative for Listeria monocytogenes before leaving the manufacturing facility. However, another lot that shares ingredients with the recalled lots has tested positive. The lot that tested positive has not been released to the public. 

The recalled product was distributed to retail stores located in Arizona, California, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas.
