More than 1,300 people have suffered suspected food poisoning in the Mexican state of Veracruz after eating cake.

Price Chopper Supermarkets is recalling two sizes of its bakery’s Central Market Classics Tres Leches cakes – the 5 inch, UPC 41735-26013, and the 8 inch, UPC 41735-25128.
Rich Foods, the manufacturer of the sponge cake layers contained in these cakes, notified Price Chopper that they may contain plastic fragments.
