Study highlights major Listeria outbreaks in Italy

Four Listeria outbreaks in Italy sickened more than 600 people and caused 12 deaths, according to information from a new study.

These listeriosis outbreaks were investigated during 2022 and 2023. Three were linked to meat products and one was traced to vegetables. Implicated items were chicken and turkey frankfurters, mortadella, porchetta and black olives.
