Insights from a decade of monitoring have revealed the main foods, causative agents, and contributing factors in outbreaks in Germany.

Since 2015, the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) and the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) have been collecting data on foodborne outbreaks to provide annual reports.
