Mass. Restaurant Remains Closed After Salmonella Illness

Published:

A Portuguese restaurant in Fall River, Mass., has been closed since Thursday after one patron fell ill with a Salmonella illness in suspected connection to the establishment, according to the Herald News.  Local health officials required T.A. Restaurant to throw out its food, test employees for Salmonella and disinfect the entire establishment over the weekend.  The restaurant appeared to still be closed on Monday.

Food Safety News called the restaurant Monday evening, but no one answered and its voice mailbox was full.

Public health officials continue to investigate the potential source of contamination at the restaurant.
