Smoked Salmon Recalled for Listeria Risk

A Florida-based company is recalling a batch of its smoked salmon because the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.  MKG Provisions of Miami, FL issued a voluntary recall of its Atlantic Smoked Salmon Batch #1768, sold under several brand names, after the Florida Department of Agriculture discovered Listeria in a sample of the finished product.  The smoked salmon subject to this recall was distributed during between January 23, 2013 and February 1, 2013 to Gold Kosher of North Miami Beach, FL; Sally Sherman Salads of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca, FL; US Foodservice South Florida; US Foodservice Baltimore; Deer Run of Longwood, FL; L’Chaim of Delray Beach, FL; Prestige Smokehouse of Riviera Beach, FL; and Best Value of Miami, FL.  The lot number 1768 can be found on a square sticker on the bag of each recalled item. A list of recalled products by brand is as follows:

Consumers who purchased any of these products should return them to their point of purchase for a full refund, advises the company.
