Cured Pork from Italy Recalled in Canada

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume Fumagalli La Salumeria brand Seasoned Dry Cured Pork Loin, imported from Italy, because the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The importer, Les Aliments Edesia Foods Inc., Saint-Hubert, QC, is recalling the Fumagalli La Salumeria brand Seasoned Dry Cured Pork Loin, batch number 119062, with a best-before date of Aug. 30, 2011, which was sold in 1.2-1.6 kg units. The meat may also have been sliced at retail, and thus may not bear the original brand name, batch or best-before information. Consumers are advised to contact the retailer to determine if they have the affected product.
