Colin Anderson is a Seattle-based educator and writer who has taught young people, from 5 to 21, about food, gardening, nutrition, and cooking. He spent two years as a garden teacher at the Edible Schoolyard in Berkeley, CA, where he helped shape a nationally recognized school garden and kitchen curriculum. He also taught nutrition to elementary school students in the Seattle and managed the Seattle Youth Garden Works program, which provided job training to homeless and underserved youths in the a garden-to-farmers market operation. He earned a Masters in Teaching degree from Seattle University, and spends much of his free time pursuing his passion for all aspects of food production and appreciation.

As a garden teacher and volunteer at the Edible Schoolyard, the middle school garden and kitchen program in Berkeley, CA, I loved watching a class of 30 or so kids, diverse in every way, work together to tend a one-acre garden bursting with vegetables, herbs, flowers, and chickens.
