Formerly a city dweller and real estate broker, Amy Manning has changed her lifestyle by becoming a stay-at-home mom and modern homesteader. Her family raises their own animals and Amy spends much of her time tending large gardens for food. She has attended culinary school and is a ServSafe certified cook. When Amy first purchased goats for her family milk supply, she studied the research about whether or not to pasteurize her own milk, and, based on what she read and her background in food safety, became concerned about the possible detrimental affects of consuming raw milk. Amy is the author of the blog: www.MySuburbanHomestead.com, where she writes about the trials and tribulations of learning to homestead.
