Polish analysis finds outbreaks increasing
The majority of outbreaks were bacterial, among which the most prevalent were Salmonella incidents, with 80 percent because of Salmonella Enteritidis.

An analysis of outbreaks in Poland has revealed an increasing trend and a high Salmonella burden.
Routine surveillance data collected by the District Sanitary and Epidemiological Stations (PSSE) and from infectious disease bulletins were analyzed.
Between 2021 and 2023, 2,722 foodborne outbreaks caused 20,102 cases. In total, 5,609 people were hospitalized.
