Audits in France and Germany have found meat controls are generally effective but there is room to improve approval procedures and follow-up of non-compliances, according to recently released audit information.
An audit by DG Sante in September 2025 in France evaluated controls on the production of meat preparations and meat products. It found the system is well-structured and supported by guidelines, instructions and scientific advice.
