Spanish court rejects appeal in poisoning case

A court in Spain has maintained the prison sentence of a woman who attempted to murder her ex-partner using chocolate laced with rat poison.

A ruling in November 2021 granted the victim permanent disability status.

The Supreme Court upheld the 12-and-a-half-year prison sentence for the woman in relation to the incident in León in June 2020. The court recently rejected an appeal.
