Incidents up as Ireland records biggest Listeria outbreak

Ireland’s largest Listeria outbreak and plans to introduce a food hygiene rating system are among the highlights of the Irish food agency’s annual report.

According to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) there were 820 incidents and 88 investigations in 2025. This represents an increase of 3 percent, compared with the 796 incidents in 2024.
