EU Commission reports potential fraud alerts for May

Potential fraud discussions in Europe in May declined compared to the month before but were higher than the same period in 2025.

There were 150 reports in May, 188 in April, 204 in March, 159 in February, and 189 in January 2026. Earlier data for 2025 shows 196 in December, 194 in November, 223 in October, 164 in September, 166 in August, 136 in July, 164 in June and 129 in May.

One alert mentioned the United States in May. It concerned tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) in sweets.
