Study shows link between climate and antimicrobial resistant Salmonella

Researchers have described how climate change could have an impact on Salmonella and antimicrobial resistance.

Scientists analyzed more than 236,700 Salmonella genomes from 139 countries or regions over the period 1940 to 2023. They selected annual mean temperatures and rain levels as indicators of climate change. Future antimicrobial resistance gene trends were predicted until 2100.
