Figures from Argentina show a decline in cases of a serious condition that can develop during E. coli infections.

Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) is a notifiable condition in the country. HUS is a severe complication associated with E. coli infections that causes kidney failure and sometimes death. An analysis was performed on data in the National Surveillance System from notifications between Jan. 1, 2015, and Dec. 31, 2025.
