Meal Simple brand soup recalled because of undeclared allergen

Meal Simple brand soup recalled because of undeclared allergen

Bakkavor USA of Charlotte, NC, is initiating a recall of 16-ounce Meal Simple brand Red Lentil Dal Soup, BEST BY 1/11/2026, because it contains undeclared milk.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.

There is concern that consumers may have the recalled soup in their homes because of its long shelf life.

The recalled product was distributed from Nov. 3 to DEc. 8 and available for purchase in H-E-B retail stores located in Texas. The product is packaged in clear plastic cups

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after a consumer notified the firm that the product in the container labeled as Meal Simple Red Lentil Dal Soup was a poultry and rice soup. After an internal investigation it was discovered that Meal Simple Turkey & Wild Rice Soup contains milk as an ingredient. The Meal Simple Red Lentil Dal Soup does not include milk as an ingredient, nor does it declare milk on the label. The root cause investigation is ongoing.
