Publix Recalls Fruit and Grain Salad for Listeria Risk

Published:

Publix Super Markets issued a voluntary recall of a fruit and grain salad sold at its stores Tuesday because the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.  The company is recalling certain lots of its Publix brand Deli Tri Fruit and Grain Salad, produced by Allison’s Gourmet Kitchens, and distributed to stores in  Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.  Product subject to the recall is sold in 12-ounce containers marked with UPC # 41415-39662. Affected items have use by dates of 4/5/2013, 4/14/2013 or 4/17/2013.  Consumers who purchased the recalled salads can return them to their point of purchase for a full refund, announced the company.  No illnesses have been associated with this product to date, according to Publix.
