Australian survey shows low level of AMR in meats

A survey in Australia has revealed a minimal level of resistance to antibiotics of high importance to human health across three meat types.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) said there is a low risk of bacteria from raw retail meats being involved in resistant infections or spreading resistance when safe primary production, processing, cooking and food handling is practiced.
