SENASICA urges private sector to invest in safe food

The Mexican food agency has called on the private sector to invest more in health and safety.

During the third National Congress on Animal and Plant Health and Food Safety, organized by the National Agricultural Council (CNA) at the end of October, the chief director of the National Service of Animal and Plant Health, Food Safety and Quality (SENASICA), Javier Calderon Elizalde, said allocating resources in prevention is not an expense, but an investment in sovereignty and economic stability.

Calderón Elizalde said animal and plant health as well as food safety are strengthened when the private sector plays a role.
