Illegal import operation leads to bushmeat seizure

Authorities in the United Kingdom have seized bushmeat in an investigation into illegally imported products.

The National Food Crime Unit (NFCU) operation resulted in one arrest. A 57-year-old man has since been released under investigation.

NFCU officers and the Metropolitan police found 38-kilograms of frozen bushmeat species including pangolins, cane rats, and porcupines in Deptford earlier this month. Bushmeat is wild animal meat that has been hunted, often from species found in tropical regions.
