[](http://www.pennlive.com/news/2016/05/hibachi%5Fgrill%5Ffake%5Fcertificate.html?ref=foodsafetynews.com)[According to](http://www.pennlive.com/news/2016/05/hibachi%5Fgrill%5Ffake%5Fcertificate.html?ref=foodsafetynews.com) a local media outlet, the May 9 inspection of Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet revealed a posted certificate from 2010 but dated Sept. 24, 2015\. The certificate showed that the restaurant had someone available on staff familiar with food safety and sanitation requirements. Following the May 9 visit, the department inspector listed [16 violations](https://www.pafoodsafety.state.pa.us/web/inspection/publicinspectionsearch.aspx?ref=foodsafetynews.com) at the Hibachi Grill, among them mold on shelving, food residue on a deli slicer and on the outside of food storage containers, fly strips attached above kitchen food storage and preparation areas and falsification of a government document. The restaurant manager [told](http://abc27.com/2016/05/18/midstate-restaurant-accused-of-falsifying-government-document-for-food-safety/?ref=foodsafetynews.com) a local TV station that efforts were underway to correct the most recent violations. A spokesperson for the state agriculture department would not comment on the situation due to legal concerns.
