USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has posted a [distribution list](http://www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/wcm/connect/f5b73ba6-9c87-47d2-aecb-6cb7e5ea34f0/RC-110-2015-Retail-List.pdf?MOD=AJPERES&CONVERT%5FTO=url&CACHEID=f5b73ba6-9c87-47d2-aecb-6cb7e5ea34f0&ref=foodsafetynews.com) of 60 retail and distribution outlets in Washington state, Alaska, and Oregon which received whole hogs from Kapowsin Meats of Graham, WA.

The product has been linked to a *Salmonella* outbreak that, as of Aug. 13, had sickened 134 people in WA and hospitalized 16 of them, [according to](http://www.cdc.gov/salmonella/pork-08-15/index.html?ref=foodsafetynews.com) the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. CDC has also reported that this particular strain of *Salmonella* is [multi-drug resistant](https://www.foodsafetynews.com/multi-drug-resistance-identified-in-wa-salmonella-outbreak/). Kapowsin Meats [recalled](http://www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsis/topics/recalls-and-public-health-alerts/recall-case-archive/archive/2015/recall-110-2015-release?ref=foodsafetynews.com) approximately 116,262 pounds of whole hogs for barbecue on Aug. 13, 2015, because of the potential for *Salmonella* contamination. They were produced on various dates between April 18 and July 27, 2015\. FSIS noted that the distribution list, posted Wednesday, Aug. 19, “may not include all retail locations that have received the recalled product or may include retail locations that did not actually receive the recalled product.” As a result, members of the public is advised to use the product-specific identification information available [here](http://www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsis/topics/recalls-and-public-health-alerts/recall-case-archive/archive/2015/recall-110-2015-release?ref=foodsafetynews.com), in addition to the list of retail and distribution outlets, to check whether products in your possession have been recalled. Nearly all the retail or distribution outlets listed are in Washington state, although five are in Alaska and two are in Oregon. Two were walk-in customers whose addresses were not available, according to FSIS.
