# Nutrition Bars Recalled for Salmonella Risk

San Diego-based Perfect Bar & Company is [recalling](http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm427672.htm?ref=foodsafetynews.com) specific lots of its Peanut Butter and Cranberry Crunch nutrition bar products due to a Salmonella risk. The recalled products have packaging and/or wrappers with the expiration date and lot codes listed below. The recalled product has reached the distributor, retail and end-user level.

While no illnesses to date have been associated with any of the recalled products, *Salmonella* bacteria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with *Salmonella* often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps. Consumers with the above symptoms should consult their physician. Anyone who purchased the recalled products are advised to dispose of them immediately. Product photos below:
