The summer’s Cyclospora outbreak appears to be over, [says](http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/cyclosporiasis/outbreaks/investigation-2013.html?ref=foodsafetynews.com) the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in its final update. A total of 631 people contracted cyclosporiasis in 25 states and New York City between June 1 and Aug. 29\. Texas, Iowa and Nebraska reported the highest number of cases with 270, 140 and 87, respectively. Investigations in Iowa and Nebraska indicated that restaurant-associated cases were linked to a salad mix, while some Texas cases were linked to [fresh cilantro](https://www.foodsafetynews.com/cdc-update-on-cyclospora-outbreak/). The CDC reports that the ill persons ranged in age from less than 1 year to 94 years, with a median age of 52 years. Nearly 60 percent were females and, among 596 persons for whom information was available, 49 were hospitalized. No deaths were reported.
