An employee and four customers of New Hawaii Sea restaurant in New York City have tested positive for hepatitis A, prompting the city’s [health department](http://www.nyc.gov/html/doh/html/pr2013/pr033-13.shtml?ref=foodsafetynews.com) to urge customers who ate at the restaurant or through their catering service between Sept. 7 and 19 to receive a hepatitis A vaccination. The restaurant is located at 1475 Williamsbridge Road in the Bronx. Those who receive a vaccination within two weeks of exposure to hepatitis A may prevent symptoms of infection. Those who have previously been vaccinated for hepatitis A do not need another vaccine. Anyone who ate at the restaurant before Sept. 7 is advised to check with a medical professional to receive an evaluation for hepatitis A infection. The health department will offer hepatitis A vaccinations starting tomorrow, September 21st at the Herbert Lehman High School, 3000 East Tremont Avenue, Bronx, NY 10461 at the following times: Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 2-8 pm Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 2-8 pm Symptoms of hepatitis A infection include fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. This is the fourth hepatitis A warning New Yorkers have received in the past year.
