# Lettuce for KFC and Taco Bell in Canada Recalled

FreshPoint in Toronto has officially recalled the California-grown lettuce contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 that it distributed to KFC and Taco Bell restaurants in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec. All the recalled lettuce went to the two fast food chains in Canada, and none was sold by retail grocery stores. Recalled were: Two products, both without brand names, were officially recalled by Flashpoint. One was packaged for use by KFC and the other for Taco Bell. The common name for the first product for KFC is **3/8″ Shred Iceberg/Romain Blend** (70/30) packaged in two pound packages with six to a pack. The common name for the second product for Taco Bell is **1/4″ Shred Iceberg Lettuce** in two pound packages with ten to a pack. Lot codes for the lettuce that went to KFC are:4941, 5011, 5021, 5031, 5041, 5051, 5121, 5131, 5141, 5151, 5231\. The UPC is 10883278082124\. Lot codes for the lettuce that went to Taco Bell are: 4941, 5011, 5021, 5031, 5041, 5051, 5111, 5121, 5131, 5141, 5151\. The UPC is 10883278070701\. Both products were recalled for microbiological contamination with E. coli O157:H7 associated with an outbreak involving at least 26 illnesses.
