# Canada Retailer Recalls Ground Beef

A Canadian firm is voluntarily recalling two types of ground beef product because the beef may be contaminated with E. coli. Kabul Farms of Mississauga, Ontario is withdrawing its Ground Beef Reg. and Ground Beef Lean from the market for potential contamination with E. coli O157:H7\. The products were distributed in plastic bags of different weights on May 31, 2012\. They were sold at the Kabul Farms store at 255 Dundas Street Westin Mississauga. A sticker with the product name, the store’s name and the price is on each package. No illnesses have been associated with consumption of this ground beef. Consumers who are unsure of whether they have product subject to the recall are urged to call Kabul Farms at 905-306-1888\. For more information about the recall, consumers can also call the [Canadian Food Inspection Agency](http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/corpaffr/recarapp/2012/20120605e.shtml?ref=foodsafetynews.com) at 1-800-422-2342\. Symptoms of an E. coli infection include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal craps, and in rare cases fever. In more severe cases, diarrhea may become bloody. If you think you may have contracted an E. coli infection, contact your healthcare provider.
