The 35th Annual [National Food Policy Conference](https://www.signup4.net/Public/ap.aspx?EID=NATI405E&ref=foodsafetynews.com), organized by Consumer Federation of America, will take place May 17-18 in Washington, DC. FDA Deputy Commissioner for Foods Mike Taylor will provide an update on the Food Safety Modernization Act; USDA Under Secretary for Food and Nutrition Services Kevin Concannon and Director of the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity at the CDC William Dietz will provide updates on nutrition initiatives and priorities; and USDA Under Secretary for Research, Education and Economics Catherine Woteki will discuss research priorities for food safety, nutrition and agriculture.
