The recalled whole mace comes in an uncoded 3.5 oz plastic bag and was sold in New York City.

Routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture & Market food inspector and subsequent analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel detected the problems.

The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of sulfites.

No adverse reactions have been reported.

Consumers may return the recalled whole mace to the place of purchase for a full refund.

For more information on the recall contact the company at 347-639-1426.
