# FDA Warning Letters: March 13, 2012

From U.S. Food and Drug Administration warning letters posted March 13, 2012:

[Staples, Incorporated](http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2012/ucm295182.htm?ref=foodsafetynews.com) of Framingham, MA warned that an October/November 2011 inspection of the company’s Stockton, CA facility documented serious violations of the Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulation for foods, including evidence of rodents near food products, including candies, crackers, creamers, pistachios and ramen noodles, dead rodents in traps, rodent-gnawed peanut butter and cheese sandwich crackers.

[Fong Kee Tofu Company](http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2012/ucm295239.htm?ref=foodsafetynews.com) of San Francisco, CA warned that a December 2011 inspection of the company’s food manufacturing facility documented serious violations of the Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulation for foods, including evidence of pigeons near raw soybean storage and ready-to-eat bulk tofu, and flies and gnats flying about a tofu area during production, and employees proceeding from handling forklifts and pallet jacks to handle tofu without changing gloves or washing hands.

[Modern Products](http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2012/ucm295411.htm?ref=foodsafetynews.com) of Mequon, WI warned that an August/September 2011 inspection of the company’s facility revealed a failure to comply with the Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations for dietary supplements I connection with labeling of its All Natural Swiss Formula Broth and Garlic Magic! Spice Gourmet Natural Seasoning.

[Sebastian Joe’s Ice Cream Commissary](http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2012/ucm295629.htm?ref=foodsafetynews.com) of Minneapolis, MN warned that an October 2011 insepction documented significant deviations from food labeling regulations, including that its Caramel Cashew ice cream label failed to identify major food allergens of milk, soybean and egg.
