# Listeria Spurs Smoked Salmon Recall in Alaska

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation has requested the recall of smoked salmon from a Fairbanks producer, saying it found that a shipment contaminated with Listeria.

The department has targeted half-pound bags of Santas Smokehouse Cajun-Style Smoked Keta Salmon sold between Aug. 27 and Nov. 6.

The department reported that it found the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes in a batch sold at the company’s retail stores.

The Santa’s Smokehouse brand is produced by Interior Alaska Fish Processors, Inc.

No illnesses have been reported in association with the recall.
