Roe recalled nationwide in Canada; botulism possible

Imperial Caviar & Seafood has expanded its Dec. 15 warning, recalling Whitefish Roe and VIP Caviar Club brand Salmon Roe, urging consumers to not eat the fish eggs due to concerns of botulism poisoning. Roe Recalled Due to Listeria

A California company is recalling Masago (capelin roe), because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. In a news release issued late Friday, Yamaya USA of Torrance, CA said the recall was the result of a microbiological sampling by the Food and Drug Administration that revealed the finished products contained the bacteria.
