Dr. Robert Lawrence

Dr. Robert S. Lawrence is Professor of Environmental Health Sciences, Health Policy, and International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the founding director of the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future.  He was previously associate dean at the Bloomberg School, director of health sciences at the Rockefeller Foundation, chief of medicine at Cambridge Hospital, and founding director of the Division of Primary Care at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Lawrence co-founded and currently chairs the board of directors of Physicians for Human Rights, which shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize for its work to eliminate the use of anti-personnel landmines.  A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School, he trained in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.
